Primrose Schools Find A Spot In National Landing

Primrose Schools - one of the nationwide-known early education and child care centers hailing from Acworth, Georgia - has signed a 15-year lease on the ground floor of the Century Center. The school is set to take up 18,461 square feet once the future redevelopment of the property in 2461 South Clark Street takes place.

Primrose is set to accept new students in the Arlington are come 2022, with this franchise adding up as a part of their 450 franchised schools that are scattered all throughout 33 states. “Primrose is proud to bring a key element of the live-work-learn-play environment that today’s consumers are craving,” Steve Clemente, president of Primrose Schools, said in a release. “Primrose is excited to be part of the National Landing community to help address the critical need for high-quality early education in the D.C. area.”

In the deal made, Colliers represents the tenant (Primrose Schools) and Dallon L. Cheney (a principal of KLNB) represents the landlord - which is a joint venture between LaSalle Investment Management, SERS, and MRP Realty. The aforementioned three landlords is in care of redeveloping the 14-story mixed-use building that is Century City. This building sits alongside the 12-story mixed-use building in 2450 Crystal Drive, and both buildings are expected to gain traction once opening especially that Amazon's HQ2 is also set to break ground in National Landing.

“National Landing is one of the strongest markets for demand in Northern Virginia and an underserved community as far as early education centers go,” Adam Schindler, an executive vice president at Colliers, told Commercial Observer. “With Amazon’s new employee base in the area, it is anticipated that the demand for early educational services will surge.”
